Trying a trend

Jeans: Mr Price; Top: YDE; Boots & Sunglasses: China Town; Hat: Foschini
Bag: Sowearto; Watch: MK; Rings: Woolworths; Earrings: Honey

I don’t love over-the-knee boots – but since I’m curious about the trend I thought I’d give it a go and get a cheap pair (at China Town!). An expensive pair wouldn’t serve me well (although I do prefer leather), because the amount of wears it gets wouldn’t justify the cost.

I had fun trying out this look, and I will enjoy the challenge of trying these boots different ways – still keeping it classy. There’s a grey area – between trashy and classy, so be careful with it if you’re giving the over-the-knee boot a try.

Thanks for coming by and have a good weekend!

  1. I agree. Over the knee length boots can be risky since there it is associated with what society regards as trashy. Reminds me of Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman in which she plays a prostitute holding her thigh high boots up with a pin. But I think it should be worn freely without worrying too much about being judged. That way more people will feel free to wear it. I love how you have styled them here. I've had a side l suede pair that I purchased in 2011 and only wore about 5 times. In fact, I gave them a complete skip last year. But I'm definitely pulling them out this year 🙂
