I’m slowly decorating our home, and this room is kind of done so I thought I’d share. It’ll most likely change soon, because I’m constantly decorating.
The TV room or family room is probably the most casual room in most homes – it’s a space that requires a relaxed anything goes style because you’re usually putting your feet on the couch, eating lots of popcorn and watching way too much TV or the kids are playing PlayStation in here – at least that’s how it goes in our home.
We removed a sliding door (where the couch is), and didn’t add any windows so this room was a natural pick as the TV room. It’s dark and cosy, and perfect for endless episodes of Orange is the new black (my favourite right now, and so fitting for this space!).
As with the rest of the house, we played with pops of colour and I think it works particularly well in this room because it’s meant to be fun.
The bold orange wardrobe is an antique from my mom that we just finished painting. I’m weary of painting antiques, because I like to keep pieces as original as possible – but I love how this one turned out. It also serves well as additional storage for out of season jackets and coats.
